Pros
I have not had too many coffees from Bolivia and this is the first experience with both a Bolivian Gesha and an anaerobic washed coffee. I was quite impressed with the final cup which featured big aromatics, a clean, crisp profile, and refined sweetness.
The coffee began with a strong fragrance that reminded me of sweet citrus and delicate florals. The flavor featured notes of sweet florals, candied citrus, and subtle tropical fruit. It had a punchy acidity that was crisp, bright, and crescendoed into the second half of each sip. The coffee overall was very nicely balanced and featured a balanced, fruit-toned sweetness. In the past few months, many anaerobic coffees I’ve had have been too much with clear overprocessing. This one was much more subtle (I wouldn’t have known it was an anaerobically processed coffee by taste alone).
The Bottom Line
I really enjoyed this Bolivian Gesha. From it’s boisterous aromatics to this clean finish, it was a treat to enjoy.
