Kenyan ‘Getuya’ AA – Noble Coffee Roasting

Readers of Pull & Pour know I’ve been a fan of Noble Coffee for a long time. Their Bishan Fugu is likely in the top 3-4 coffees I’ve ever had and their more recent Good Food winner, Buku Sayisa, was equally as good. After Ethiopia, Kenya is my favorite origin, so I was really excited to see if their current Kenyan single-origin offering could live up to the other Ethiopian coffees I’ve loved in the past.

The coffee begins with a bright, citrus aroma, which carries through the entire drink. There are a variety of flavor notes, but the citrus/grapefruit is most pronounced. One of the favorite attributes of Noble’s coffee are the strong flavor notes. With Bishan Fugu it was blueberry, with Buku Sayisa the lemon, and with Getuya AA it is the citrus/grapefruit notes.

The other great attribute in the coffee is its sweetness. It is a beautiful, complex sweetness that has notes of caramel and maple. It does a really nice job of carrying through the aftertaste to leave your mouth with some refreshing sweetness.

The Bottom Line

Once again Noble delivers with a delicious, complex and flavorful coffee. It is one of the best Kenyan’s I’ve had recently and I’d highly recommend trying it.
