Disclosure: Pull & Pour received coffee samples for this post, however, as always, all opinions are 100% my own.
Corvus Coffee consistently delivers high-quality and unique coffees in its offerings. Corvus’s exotic and reserve series in particular are always quite special. This coffee from Ecuador and produced by Jaime Cartuche is unique for sure and one of the best coffees I’ve ever had from Ecuador.
The coffee began with a strong, sweet fragrance that reminded me of papaya, dark berries, and rich chocolate. The flavor featured notes of sweet chocolate, blackberry, and subtle tropical fruit. The acidity wasn’t incredibly strong but crescendoed into the finish, which was long and featured lingering notes of sweetness and acidity. There was a fairly heavy body with a smooth mouthfeel. The syrupy sweetness was one of my favorite attributes of the coffee; it was rich & fruit-toned with some amazing intensity.
The Bottom Line
I loved the mix of complex fruit notes and chocolate found throughout this cup. It was lively, unique, and an excellent example of the coffee potential from an origin like Ecuador.
