Pros

  • Rich, full profile
  • Citrus + berry + chocolate combo

The Wush Wush coffee variety is one of the most exciting ones available and is able to produce some incredibly complex and unique coffees. A Wush Wush coffee is reliably always in my top coffees for the year.

This Colombian Wush Wush from Big Shoulders started out with an approachable fragrance of chocolate, cherries, and stone fruit. The flavor reminded me of grapefruit, berries, and dark chocolate. The body was rich & full with a creamy, mouth-coating mouthfeel. When brewed with the AeroPress it became even lusher. The sweetness reminded me of dark chocolate-covered raspberries.

The Bottom Line

While this wasn’t the most exotic Wush Wush I’ve tried, I was still very impressed with its lushness and depth of flavor. It brewed well with everything from espresso to filter and was a lot of fun to explore.
