Disclosure: Pull & Pour received coffee samples for this post, however, as always, all opinions are 100% my own.
Atlas Coffee Club is a travel-themed coffee of the month subscription. Every month Atlas Coffee Club features a different origin to highlight the different tastes and profiles of coffees from around the world. I did a full review of the Atlas Coffee Club subscription a few months back, which you can read here. The featured origin for March 2021 was Costa Rica and they featured a coffee from the Palmares region.
The coffee began with a sweet, lemon citrus and chocolate fragrance that featured undertones of rich, dark fruit. During brewing the aroma was incredibly rich and let into flavors that reminded me of chocolate, graham cracker and oats. The acidity was very mild and steady throughout. The body was quite full and was a highlight of the coffee with a creamy and smooth mouthfeel. The coffee sported a rich chocolate and brown sugar sweetness. I really enjoyed it as a rich, creamy espresso, but it did equally well in pour over. It was incredibly easy to dial in, as well, which is always a plus.
The Bottom Line
While the coffee lacked a bit of complexity, it was very approachable and likely would appeal to broad audience of coffee lovers. Between its smooth mouthfeel, rich sweetness and chocolate graham cracker flavor notes, I think there is something most people could find in it to enjoy.
