Coconut Cream Cold Brew

Cold brew coffee is one of the best ways to enjoy coffee year round. It is incredibly easy to make at home and is extremely versatile (it can be used in everything from a cocktail to energy balls). One of the best ways to enjoy cold brew though is with cream. The smooth, rich profile of the cold brew pairs perfectly with heavy ream to create a decadent iced drink. In this recipe from Alexandra at @drinkequilibrium, we pair the cold brew with cream of coconut, which adds a sweet and slightly tropical twist.

How Do You Make Cream of Coconut?

Cream of coconut can easily be purchased at a grocery store or online from Amazon. It is incredibly easy to make at home though. Steve the Bartender has a simple recipe that is easy and takes only a few minutes to make. The recipe involves taking full fat coconut milk, sugar and a pinch of salt and combining together in a saucepan over low heat until the sugar dissolves. The proportions for the cream of coconut are below, but you can easily scale the recipe up or down based on how much you want.

Ingredients for Homemade Cream of Coconut

  • 1 can full fat coconut milk (400 mL)
  • 1.75 cups sugar (375 grams)
  • Pinch of salt
