Disclosure: Pull & Pour received coffee samples for this post, however, as always, all opinions are 100% my own.
This naturally processed coffee from Brazil began with a rich chocolate & graham cracker fragrance that had a subtle hint of booziness to it. The flavor was rich and reminded me of chocolate covered cherries, raisins and had some of the same boozy undertones as the fragrance. The acidity was fairly steady and the body was smooth, creamy and full. The sweetness was rich, decadent and reminded me more of the chocolate covered fruit. The coffee wasn’t terribly complex, but did make up for it in its flexibility. It was easy to dial in for pour over and was especially good in espresso. The rich, chocolate profile and thick, creamy body made it a great milk carrier and it became a favorite coffee to use when making lattes and cortados.
The Bottom Line
This Brazilian coffee from Angry Roaster aligned with my overall impression of some of the best Brazilian coffee. It isn’t overly complex, but it is incredibly approachable and quite delicious.
