Pros

  • Bright & bold, yet elegant
  • Complex flavor profile

Corvus is now well known for their reserve and limited coffees. This washed carbonic coffee is part of Corvus’ Carbonic Geisha Reserve series, along with La Estrella. The coffee was bright & bold while maintaining a complex elegance.

The coffee began with a sweet and complex fragrance that was full of notes of fruit, florals and citrus. The flavor was complex and slightly jammy with notes that reminded me of berries and subtle citrus with floral rose undertones. The body was light with a smooth & lively mouthfeel. The acidity was bright & crisp, yet extremely well balanced. The sweetness was one of my favorite attributes of the coffee and was berry-forward, bright and jammy in nature. The sweetness lingered long into the finish leaving me wanting more after every sip. The coffee featured bold, punchy attributes, but did a nice job maintaining its balance.

The Bottom Line

The depth of flavor & aroma in this coffee was stunning and a true treat to enjoy. The complex profile and intense sweetness, made this a very special Geisha and one I cherished with every brew.
