Whiskey Coffee Barbecue Sauce Recipe

Whiskey Coffee Barbecue Sauce

Coffee Barbecue Sauce

This whiskey coffee barbecue sauce is as easy to make as it is satisfyingly delicious. It’s tangy, salty, slightly sweet, and laced with subtle coffee flavor. A classic barbecue sauce is ketchup or tomato based and includes ingredients like brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce. This coffee barbecue sauce relies on these basics, plus freshly pulled espresso and quality whiskey for a sauce so well-balanced and flavorful, we wouldn’t judge you for sneaking a few spoonfuls right out of the pan.

Whiskey and Coffee

Why do whiskey and coffee go so well together? The pair is ideal for cocktails, like an Irish coffee or whiskey maple coffee cocktails, as well as baked goods, sauces, and so much more. Coffee aged in whiskey barrels is growing in popularity for the same reason: The notes of smooth whiskey and coffee play off each other perfectly thanks to similar mellow flavors.

Cooking with Barbecue Sauce

Cooking with barbecue sauce can be as simple as you please: Throw it on just about any savory food as a finishing condiment for an additional burst of flavor. But this whiskey coffee barbecue sauce is perfect for burgers, slathered over pork ribs, or even as a dipping sauce for onion rings and french fries. Cooking with barbecue sauce can also mean stirring the sauce into stews, chilis, or other dishes— You can even use it as a marinade for meat or in a dressing for potato salad.
