Disclosure: Pull & Pour received coffee samples for this post, however, as always, all opinions are 100% my own.
Stay Golden Coffee Co. is based out of Nashville, Tennessee and a roaster I’ve been wanting to try for months. They recently sent me a variety of their current offerings and I loved each of them. It was this Estate La Esperanza though that really caught my attention with its intense sweetness and high acidity.
The coffee began with an incredibly sweet and rich fragrance that reminded me of dried fruit and subtle berries. During brewing more chocolatey notes came through, especially during the bloom. In the flavor I tasted amazingly complex flavors that reminded me of vanilla, caramel and various fruit notes. The flavor was rich, sweet and fruit-forward. The brightness was slightly dry with high acidity and was even throughout. The body was medium to full with a smooth, rounded mouthfeel. The sweetness was intense and slightly creamy and was lingered with the acidity into the finish.
The Bottom Line
The levels of flavor and the evolution in each sip from dryness to high acidity to intense sweetness was amazing and made we want to keep coming back to this coffee to explore it more. My first experience with Stay Golden was a great one and I can’t wait to try more of their coffees in the future.
