Disclosure: Pull & Pour received coffee samples for this post, however, as always, all opinions are 100% my own.

South Slope is a roaster based out of Asheville, North Carolina. They recently started offering a monthly subscription service and this coffee is the one they are offering for their March 2021 subscribers.

The coffee begins with a subtly sweet fragrance with notes of chocolate, citrus and stone fruit. In the flavor I tasted much of the same with notes that reminded me of white grapes, chocolate, dried fruit and various stone fruits. The acidity was crisp and steady throughout. The body was smooth, though a bit thin. The sweetness reminded me of dried dates and figs with their sticky sweetness. While the aftertaste was fairly quick, it had a really nice chocolate sparkle that I enjoyed after each sip. One of the strongest attributes of this coffee was its approachability. It was extremely well-balanced and easy to drink.

The Bottom Line

This Peruvian coffee would appeal to a wide range of coffee drinkers. It’s flavor, while diverse was still very approachable.
