Disclosure: Pull & Pour received coffee samples for this post, however, as always, all opinions are 100% my own.

FRINJ Coffee is based out of southern California and is the only company growing and selling coffee produced in the continental United States. They produce a wide range of varietals, but their Geisha coffees are their flagship offerings. This Geisha came from Valley Heart Ranch, a farm in Montecito, California owned & operated by Kirsten & Darrell Becker.

The coffee began with a subtle fragrance of sweet strawberry, taffy, and stone fruit. The flavor was full of creamy strawberry notes with a full & rounded body and soft mouthfeel; each sip was so lovely. The sweetness was structured and reminded me of brown sugar and strawberries. The finish of each sip featured lingering sweetness and a rounded, smooth profile. While the coffee didn’t have too much evolution throughout each sip, the depth of its flavor profile gave the cup some wonderful complexity.

The Bottom Line

It is so exciting to see what FRINJ and their partner producers are doing with coffee in the continental United States. It would be compelling regardless, but the fact they are successfully growing some of the best coffee varietals and producing some incredibly high-rated coffee makes it all the more exciting.
