Pros

  • Flavor combination
  • Sweetness in mouthfeel & finish

Cons

  • Aroma lacks some intensity

CoffeeStamp is a small roaster based in my home town of St. Louis. This coffee is a AA coffee from Tanzania. Tanzania is located in Africa near Kenya and Ethiopia, so it shares the climate and rich soil that help each of those origins grow such delicious coffee.

AA is a coffee grading term that applies to coffee beans that are larger than normal.

The large AA beans have a bright, sweet and nutty fragrance of medium intensity that becomes more pronounced as you grind the coffee. Upon brewing, I tasted notes of orange and chocolate, as well as hints of floral notes with some nice tart citrus acidity. The coffee is round roasted and has a wonderfully sweet toffee caramel mouthfeel. The coffee finishes with a long, resonant aftertaste filled with more sweetness.

The Bottom Line

I loved the flavor combination of this coffee and the sweetness that carried through the entire experience. While I found it unique from the recent Ethiopian and Kenyan coffees I have tried, it shared their level of quality.
