San Isidro was the September 2020 subscriber box coffee for Yonder Coffee. It was a naturally processed Costa Rican coffee from the Hungarian roaster Casino Mocca. I’ve been incredibly impressed with the various naturally processed Central and South American coffees I have tried this year and San Isidro fit in this trend.
The coffee begins with an incredibly strong fragrance that was sweet, creamy and full of berry notes. The coffee had a light, yet creamy body and was extremely juicy with sweet tart notes of fresh fruit (specifically strawberry). It has a tart apple acidity mixed with lemon citrus that almost makes you pucker on the first sip. The strawberry sweetness is quite pronounced throughout the entire sip and lingers long into the finish. The coffee is well-balanced, clean and was easy to dial in when brewing.
The Bottom Line
Yonder Coffee delivered again with an excellent coffee that was complex, sweet and delicious. I savored the 200 grams I had until the final brew.
