This organic washed Guatemalan coffee from Wonderstate was the November 2021 featured coffee from Better Grounds, a subscription focused specifically on organic coffees.
The coffee began with a crisp fragrance that had notes of nuts and citrus. The flavor featured chocolate notes throughout, lemon citrus at the front, and big florals in the second half. It had a crisp, citrus-toned acidity and a medium body. The sweetness was floral, but with supporting fruit notes. The aftertaste sported a lingering floral finish.
The Bottom Line
This was a really nice, balanced coffee. It had a wonderful pairing of citrus, subtle fruit & floral, and some nice evolution throughout each sip. It was on par with the quality I’ve come to expect from Wonderstate.
