Pros

  • Creamy, approachable profile
  • Unique starfruit notes as it cools

This Miramundo Guatemalan coffee was part of the holiday box set from Rako and immediately stood out as a classic, yet unique coffee and one I immediately came to love.

The coffee began with a rich chocolate fragrance which carried into the creamy and smooth body. The coffee had a flavor profile that reminded me of dark chocolate, lemon citrus, and almonds. The real treat with this coffee I found happened right before the coffee approached room temperature. During that brief temperature window, I tasted more intense notes of tropical fruit—specifically starfruit, which is always a flavor note I love to find. The sweetness was chocolate-toned with creamy toffee notes and a nutty finish.

The Bottom Line

The coffee was very approachable, but far from boring. It had some great complexity that was exciting to explore throughout each brew. This coffee more than any other in the holiday set I wished I had more than 100 grams to brew with.
