Pros
Radio Roasters was one of the first specialty coffee roasters I tried years ago. They offered small 2-4oz samplers at the time, which were a great way to try a lot of different coffees. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t featured one of their coffees on Pull & Pour before now, but am glad I waited for this truly special Guatemalan geisha.
The coffee begins with a rich & sweet fragrance that reminded me of chocolate and apple. The flavor was sweet & crisp with notes of honey florals and chocolate. It had a crisp acidity and a medium-full body. The sweetness reminded me of caramel or molasses and was rich & thick. It grew in strength as the coffee cooled and lingered long into the finish where it continued to coat your tongue long after every sip. The floral, sweet, and chocolate elements created a wonderfully complex coffee with excellent depth and evolution.
The Bottom Line
This geisha featured a wonderfully rich flavor profile and sweetness. It was complex, but still surprisingly approachable making it a coffee I think a lot of people would enjoy.
