Pros
This naturally processed Ethiopian coffee began with a lovely sweet blackberry and slightly creamy fragrance. My first sips reminded me of citrus, blackberries and other dark fruit notes. The sweetness was a caramel berry mix that grew stronger as the coffee cooled (an attribute that is always a favorite of mine). The mouthfeel was slightly creamy and the acidity was strong, citrus-toned and slightly tart like a Granny Smith apple. The acidity lingered into the finish, which also featured the berry sweetness. The coffee had some lovely layering of flavors and required a lot of exploration to identify the full extend of the fruit and berry notes.
The Bottom Line
This was a wonderful Ethiopian coffee that I enjoyed a great deal. The berry caramel sweetness paired with the creaminess throughout and the complexity of the flavor profile made this one I really enjoyed drinking morning after morning.
