Disclosure: Pull & Pour received coffee samples for this post, however, as always, all opinions are 100% my own.

This naturally processed Ethiopian coffee from Pair Cupworks was a December 2021 feature for the Pull & Pour Coffee Club. It was one of the best berry-forward coffees I’ve had in the recent past and a true representation of what is possible in the Sidamo region.

The coffee began with a sweet fragrance of blackberries with subtle tropical fruit notes. The flavor was all berries; it was rich, very sweet, and full of blackberry and blueberry notes. It had a big mouthfeel that was rich & syrupy and a thick berry sweetness that reminded me of pie filling. There was a crisp acidity throughout and the finish featured more of the syrupy sweetness that lingered long after every sip.

The Bottom Line

As a big fan of berry-forward coffees, this one was an absolute dream. It was bright, incredibly sweet, and full of rich berry notes.
