Disclosure: Pull & Pour received coffee samples for this post, however, as always, all opinions are 100% my own.
The Corvus Coffee reserve series never disappoints and this Geisha Village Auction Lot was no exception. It was one of the most exciting Ethiopian coffees I’ve had this year.
The coffee began with a sweet fragrance of honey and floral notes with fruity undertones. The flavor was truly incredible with wonderful sweet floral overtures, a honey structure, and a deep fruitiness of dark fruit throughout. As it cooled the fruit notes became more pronounced and reminded me of crisp raspberry at the front and a deeper pomegranate towards the finish. The coffee had a rich, mouthcoating body and a lovely, pronounced floral sweetness. The finish lingered and the rich sweetness remained in my mouth long after finishing a sip.
The Bottom Line
A high-quality, complex naturally processed Ethiopian coffee is hard to beat in my opinion and this Geisha Village Auction Lot from Corvus fit that description exactly. It easily became one of my favorite coffees of the year.
