Pros
The Tour of El Salvador set from Red Rooster includes three El Salvadorian coffees from three different specialty farms around the country. Each coffee in the set is unique, dynamic, and exciting. This naturally processed Pacamara from Sugar Maple Farms with its fruit-forward profile was my favorite though.
The coffee began with bold, sweet aromatics with dominant fruity citrus notes. The flavor profile was dynamic with complex fruit notes featuring pomegranate, raspberry, orange citrus, and stone fruit. The fruit notes supported the heavy mouthfeel and were all complimented by a creamy chocolate undertone. The sweetness was one of the most pronounced attributes of the coffee and reminded me of chocolate-covered oranges.
The Bottom Line
Overall the entire Tour of El Salvador set was exciting and vibrant. Each coffee was unique, yet shared a rich, complexity with one another. It is a delicious set of coffees to drink side-by-side to compare or appreciate individually.
