Pros
This El Salvador single-origin blend from Mela was a wonderfully approachable coffee. It began with a sweet, yet subtle fragrance that reminded me of chocolate and dates. The flavor was rich with notes of chocolate, subtle citrus, figs & raisins. The body was fairly heavy with a full mouthfeel with a supporting chocolate-toned, decadent sweetness. I tried the coffee across a wide range of brew methods and it worked well for many of them and I especially enjoyed it as espresso.
The Bottom Line
Overall, the coffee was extremely balanced and approachable. It lacked a bit of complexity and depth I love in a coffee but was still very enjoyable.
