Disclosure: Pull & Pour received coffee samples for this post, however, as always, all opinions are 100% my own.
The Costa Rican origin has really been blowing my mind recently. I’ve had an amazing selection of coffees from multiple roasters that have all been unique and incredibly delicious. This geisha from Presta Coffee was a limited release and fit among the other great Costa Rican coffees I’ve had recently.
The coffee began with a rich, sweet fragrance that reminded me of brown sugar, honey, and subtle fruit notes. The flavor was even more rich & decadent with notes of brown sugar, caramel, and dark fruit. As the coffee cooled the fruit & berry notes became more pronounced. One of my favorite attributes in a Costa Rican coffee is its complex sweetness and this one definitely was complex. It was caramel-toned with a honey thickness with subtle fruit undertones. The coffee overall was quite versatile and wonderfully complex.
The Bottom Line
This Don Eli Geisha Natural was a real treat and the only bummer about it was it was a limited release.
