Disclosure: Pull & Pour received coffee samples for this post, however, as always, all opinions are 100% my own.
This is the third Oak & Bond coffee I’ve reviewed this year and I have to say that each one is better than the one before. The naturally processed coffees coming out of Central America this year in general have been excellent and this Costa Rica Tarrazú F1 Natural fits right in with that trend.
The coffee begins with a robust and complex fragrance that reminded me of chocolate, caramel and citrus. The flavor was impressive with notes of lime citrus and berries. It was rich and crisp with a full, velvety mouthfeel. The citrus-toned acidity was strong and vibrant throughout and the sweetness was prominent and featured fruit and citrus characteristics. The aftertaste highlighted a lingering sweetness and citrus acidity that reminded me of lemon lime candy.
The Bottom Line
The mix of crisp, citrus acidity paired with the rich, velvety profile led to a very unique and exciting coffee. I really enjoyed exploring this coffee and can’t wait to see what else Oak & Bond delivers with in the months to come.
