Disclosure: Pull & Pour received coffee samples for this post, however, as always, all opinions are 100% my own.
Honey and naturally processed Costa Rican coffees have become some of my favorite coffees over the past year. For that reason, when I heard that Oak & Bond’s newest release was going to be a naturally processed Costa Rican coffee, I was extremely excited. This coffee fits the profile I’ve fallen in love with across many Costa Rican coffees perfectly: rich, sweet, and decadent.
The coffee begins with a fragrance that reminded me of cherry, raspberry, and chocolate. The flavor was rich & decadent with notes of cherry, strawberry, vanilla, and red wine. The acidity supported the rich profile and was steady throughout. The thick, syrupy, and mouthcoating mouthfeel is one of the signature attributes of these coffees and it was present in spades with this one. The sweetness was very rich; it was fruit-toned but balanced with chocolate notes. The sweetness and syrupy mouthfeel lingered long into the finish and left you wanting another sip every time.
The Bottom Line
The rich, decadent flavor profile of this natural Costa Rican coffee paired with its thick, syrupy mouthfeel and rich sweetness were the highlights in this delicious brew.
