Corvus Coffee has been smashing it with their rare and exotic coffees this year. Their Savage Geisha Nirvana Process I reviewed a week or two ago made my set of top coffees for the year and this naturally processed geisha from Colombia is up there as a favorite as well.
This coffee begins with a banger of a fragrance with sweet tropical notes of banana and rich berries. During the brew it became floral and slightly earthy. The flavor was a true treat with a very sweet mixture of strong floral notes and dark berries. As the coffee cooled, it because even sweeter with a caramel-centric sweetness and the flavor centered on the berry fruit notes. The acidity was strong throughout with a full body. At the end of each sip, the sweetness and floral notes lingered leaving a hint of the coffee just enjoyed.
The Bottom Line
Arcila Hermanos was a beautifully complex coffee that paired fruit and floral notes wonderfully. The evolution of the sweetness as it cooled and the strength of its attributes from fragrance to finish made this an amazing coffee to come back to morning after morning.
