This naturally processed Ethiopian coffee was a coffee I received as part of my Trade Coffee subscription (read the full review about Trade here).
The coffee began with a very sweet fragrance that reminded me of candied berries. The flavor was sweet-toned, was very berry forward, and had some strong milk chocolate support. The acidity was crisp, sweet, and sparkling. The coffee overall was quite jammy with a medium body and silky mouthfeel. The sweetness was rich and reminded me of chocolate-covered blackberries. The aftertaste was a bit dry and featured lingering sweetness.
The Bottom Line
Overall Banko Gotiti fit quite nicely into what I expect in a naturally processed Ethiopian coffee. It was sweet, berry-forward with high acidity and a jammy mouthfeel.
