Disclosure: Pull & Pour received coffee samples for this post, however, as always, all opinions are 100% my own.
This coffee comes from the Elida Estate in Boquete, Panama. The estate has been owned by Lamastus family since 1918 and has produced some of the best coffee out of Panama. It was an incredibly special coffee with wonderful complexity and surprising intensity.
The coffee began with a beautifully complex fragrance of sweet florals, berries, and subtle tropical fruit. The flavor was sweet-toned and quite floral. I tasted strong notes of blueberries & raspberries, which were supported by a crescendoing citrus-toned acidity. The coffee had a medium body and a syrupy mouthfeel. The sweetness was fruit-toned and reminded me of cotton candy grapes. The finish lingered with floral sweetness and lasted long after each sip.
The Bottom Line
Elida Aguacate was truly a treat. The flavor profile was surprisingly complex with notes of berries, tropical fruit, and sweet florals throughout. It was a coffee I cherished with every brew.
