Disclosure: Pull & Pour received coffee samples for this post, however, as always, all opinions are 100% my own.
This Kenyan coffee from Arcade Coffee Roasters began with a subtly creamy and sweet citrus fragrance that reminded me of orange and grapefruit. The citrus became quite rich during brewing and came through strongly in the flavor, which reminded me strongly of grapefruit with its sweet tart profile. The acidity was strong, sharp and steady throughout. The body was extremely juicy and fairly full. The sweetness reminded me of starfruit with a burst of sweetness at the front followed by some subtle tartness and extreme juiciness throughout. The finish had a wonderful sparkle with the acidity lingering after every sip.
The Bottom Line
This coffee was an excellent representation of a Kenyan coffee. Its juicy profile and citrus notes were a wonderful execution of the best in Kenyan coffee and the evolution of sweetness and acidity throughout each sip made it an exciting coffee to drink.
