Ingredients

  • 4 raspberries
  • 3 pieces chocolate or chocolate syrup or cocoa powder (see note)
  • 4 oz milk of choice

AeroPress Espresso (aka Aeropresso)

  • 18 grams coffee ground for espresso
  • 100 grams water 210°F (99°C)

Instructions

  • Prepare AeroPress for brewing in the upright position. Ideally use the flow control cap, if available.
  • Add four raspberries to the AeroPress brew chamber.
  • Grind coffee to espresso fineness and add to the AeroPress.
  • Add 100g of near-boiling water to the AeroPress and stir back & forth aggressively. Set aside to brew for ~2 minutes.
  • Add chocolate pieces, syrup or cocoa powder to carafe or mug.
  • After ~2 minutes, slowly push down on the AeroPress over 30-45 seconds into the carafe or mug with chocolate.
  • Stir coffee and chocolate to fully melt chocolate and incorporate together.
  • Warm and froth milk and pour into chocolate/AeroPresso mixture.
  • Garnish with grated chocolate and 3-4 raspberry drupelets.

Notes

You can use any chocolate in the recipe. Most chocolate syrups and cocoa powder dissolve nicely in the hot coffee. If you use chocolate pieces, make sure it will melt nicely in the coffee to create a smooth texture in the drink.
